Palms Residence

The original 1950’s Venice house was originally a box divided into small rooms with eight foot high ceilings. With a limited remodel budget, our design strategy was one of subtraction, to remove as many walls and as much of the ceiling as possible to create an open interior space. The owners aspiration was to create a refuge from the pressure and stress of urban life. The home is meant to be more than just a shelter but a place of peace and creativity for it’s inhabitants. The landscaping, based on Feng Shui principles, features water elements, boulders and plants carefully placed to create balance and harmony in the environment. Non-toxic and sustainable products and furnishings are used throughout the house.
